My research focuses on intra-organizational social networks, often with a bent toward understanding conflict within organizations. Eliciting conflict within relationships is often very difficult, particularly if you are attempting to map an entire system of relationships within an organization. I've been working with computer scientists to understand how we can use digital data, including e-mail content, to identify positive and negative tie valence within organizations while preserving individual confidentiality. I've also been working on understanding how brokers' language, particularly during a post-merger integration, changes as their structural position evolves, and how this impacts their workplace outcomes. I am open to having interdisciplinary research collaborations around similar topics.
