Anna Goldstein is the Executive Director of the Energy Transition Institute and a Research Assistant Professor of Environmental Conservation at UMass Amherst. Amherst. Her research is on science and technology policy applied to clean energy. She studies the effectiveness of energy-related R&D efforts of governments, universities, and corporations, in order to improve program design and accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy system. Her specific research interests include research management, decision-making for R&D portfolios, and organizational strategies for mission-oriented science funding. Anna was previously a postdoc at the Carnegie Institution for Science and at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
